MailDefender
MailDefender is an Internet-based anti-virus and anti-spam
service that utilises the Sophos Anti-Virus Engine. ExoServer
includes a complete solution to virus and spa transmission
through email (responsible for transmission of 87% of all
virus attack) - MailDefender. MailDefender monitors all inbound
and outbound email.
When a virus or spam message is detected, the email is quarantined.
The sender, recipient and administrator of the network are
notified immediately, and the recipient on the local network
is given the choice of accepting or rejecting the email.
In addition to this MailDefender offers a further level of
protection.
Attachments containing suspicious looking files that are
not identified on the virus engine will also be quarantined.
MailDefender is an optional service pack for ExoServer.
